Quality Assurance Specialist

Description:Develop and execute test plans to insure high quality software releases. Work with the customer support team to isolate and analyze issues from the field.
Duties:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Tests product enhancements and changes as assigned.
2) Manages the lifecycle of defect and enhancement requests.
3) Participates on product design teams.

JOB DUTIES

• Participates on product design teams.
• Tests product enhancements and changes as assigned.
• Creates test plans for new features and changes.
• Develops and executes automated and unit tests as assigned.
• Executes tasks related to physical software release, as directed.
• Manages enhancement requests by verifying, documenting, and recommending how best to address the issue.
• Manages reported defects by verifying, evaluating severity, documenting, escalating as appropriate, and monitoring call links for additional information.
• Monitors change requests to ensure that “scope creep” does not occur during production.
• Keeps management informed of changes in priorities and time frames.
• Works with Client Services to analyze data.
• Occasionally works beyond the normal business hours in order to complete time sensitive deadlines.
• Maintains punctual, regular and predictable attendance.
• Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
• Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
• Respectfully takes direction from supervisor.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Good experience and knowledge of the software testing processes is required. Solid experience interfacing with software developers and outside clients is a must. Project management and good understanding of the software users needs and expectations is needed. Comprehensive understanding of data structure and data flow is a must. Architectural and engineering industry experience is a plus. Software knowledge should include the following: Access, Windows, Word, and Excel. SQL scripting is a plus. Any Windows based accounting experience is beneficial.
